In his 2017 book, Out of the Ashes, Anthony Esolen remarked that when an entire culture is being reduced to rubble because of the fires of cultural arsonists, there will be a thousand and one things Christians who love God and virtue and the good things of God’s kingdom will have to do to honor God. What’s the first thing? What’s the second thing? What’s the hundredth thing? There’s no one right answer.

Some will need to confront the arsonists. Others will need to fight the fires. Others will have to forage for food and shelter lest the darkness of the night overtake us. Still others will have to rummage through the rubble to search for what can still be used. It’s all important work and it all takes time.

But whatever we do, we must make sure that we have two things straight in our minds, as Nehemiah of old— the altar of the Triune God needs to be rebuilt as well as the walls of the city, the cultus of God and the culture of those made in the image of God.

This site is meant to not only draw attention to the rotting decay of our Western culture in our present time, but to point us to God, His worship, His Logos, His creational design for mankind, and the necessity to re-build culture at its foundation.
